Winners and bragging rites!

The final day of this years Allan McKinstry Cup was a chance for teams to finish on a high note.  Reddon Court (Eng) faced Lurgan (NI) in a game which the Irish lads were determined to win after two previous one goal defeats.  Win they did with a very good performance which saw them finding the net five times!

The second game was an all Welsh affair where local team Whitchurch faced Y Strade of Llanelli for the chance to become S Wales top team.  Whitchurh soon found their form and led 3-0 at half time but despite a strong second half effort from Y Strade they could only secure one goal in reply.

The final game between St Francis College (RoI) and Shenfield (Eng) promised to be a cracker on earlier performances but both teams were hampered by injuries and illness.  Nevertheless, it was an enthralling match with numerous opportunities.  Sadly, hitting the target was proving to be a problem and when the forwards managed this the 'keepers proved their worth.  Two goals from St Francis in the 45th and 49th minutes proved to be enough to take the cup back across the water.
