Today's games in the Rod Houston competition were very closely contested and a delight to watch.  Loreto, Kilkenny, set the ball rolling with a very competitive game against Caerleon from Wales.  A goal in the 17th minute from Emma Hogan put Loreto in the driving seat  but the determination of the Caerleon team saw them pull back on terms thanks to Amelia Collins in the 39th.  And so it ended and penalties ensued for the bonus point, with Loreto coming out on top 3-1.
The second game was an equally tight affair between South Hunsley and Presentation College.  The only goal of the game, scored with a powerful header from Lily May Feeney following a corner saw the girls from Athenry secure all three points. All to play for tomorrow!
