The first day of this years Rod Houston Cup produced some great football and unbelievable scorelines.  In the first game English champions from Liverpool, Chesterfield High, were dominated by Ysgol Gyfun Cwm Rhymni and were on the receiving end of a 1-3 result, the Welsh team fully deserving their victory being superior in most departments.

The second game between St Ivo School and Presentation College from Killkenny was a real enigma!  Presentation took the lead in the 10th minute when Keira Ryan met a great inswinging corner to head home, St Ivo equalized with 2 minutes to go to half time then Presentation nicked another to lead 2-1 at half time.  Then we had a real ding dong with chances at both ends - unfortunately for St Ivo they missed theirs whilst the girls from Presentation College couldn't miss!  A final score of 9-2 to the Kilkenny girls emphasized their clinical finishing in front of goal.
