Day 2 of this season's Victory Shield saw two very tight games played out at Broadwood.  In the morning game Northern Ireland took the plaudits with a single goal from Coran Madden in the first half which led to a fiercely fought second half which saw no further goals.  In the afternoon session the Republic of Ireland took a two goal lead into half time, increased it to three early on then endured endless pressure from the Welsh who pulled it up just short at 3-2 with a goal in the dying minute of added time.

Sunday mornings game, the Irish Derby will determine the winners of this seasons tropht.
