The Republic of Ireland finished their Centenary Shield for this season with a close victory against their Northern neighbours. The game could have gone either way but outstanding goalkeeping by Daithi Folan in the Republic goal ensured that the goals from Eli Rooney and Niall Holahan  were enough to grasp all three points.  Michael Morgan was Northern Irelands marksman.
